* The above curves represent the measured EPDS filter response from AC input to any output group. The same filter response applies from any output group to AC line input and from any output group to any other output group.

Look Inside the EPDS - each duplex outlet has its own filter
EPDS Custom-Wound Low-Loss Filter Inductor

The EPDS Solution
The EPDS uses low-loss 3d order (18 dB per octave) bidirectional AC line filters to reject both common-mode and differential mode AC noise and RFI from the AC outlets feeding your sensitive audio/video equipment. The noise reduction capability of the EPDS extends to much lower frequencies than competing AC filters. The accompanying graph shows the reduction of noise at various frequencies from incoming power line to any output. Because of their bidirectional nature, the filters also prevent backfeeding of equipment-generated noise into the incoming AC line. Additionally, because each duplex receptacle (output group) is fed by a separate filter, the same reduction in noise occurs between any output group and any other output group. The most sensitive front-end audio components are isolated from your power amps and other potential noise makers by feeding them from separate output groups. This filtering is extraordinarily effective. At the relatively low frequency of 300 kHz, EPDS reduces differential mode noise by a factor of 175 to 1 and common-mode noise by more than 125 to 1! At 500 kHz, the beginning of the AM radio band, the EPDS filters have attenuated differential-mode noise by over 300 to 1 and common-mode noise by more than a factor of 700. This exceptional low frequency rejection of both externally generated noise and noise backfeeding from a switchmode power amplifier will greatly benefit your sensitive front-end components.
